Our Operations
Recognizing its strategic location, we transformed the site of our former sodium chlorate plant at Bruderheim, Alberta into a storage and transloading facility to efficiently service the vast oil & gas and oil sands sectors in Alberta.
Our Bruderheim terminal is a strategic link in moving our own caustic soda and hydrochloric acid, as well as third-party hydrocarbons, in and out of Alberta by rail. With access to both CN and CP rail, NATO is ideally located to serve our three target markets:
- The oil sands – terminaling bitumen & diluent;
- Conventional oil and gas – terminaling conventional heavy oil and our own hydrochloric acid for horizontal drilling and fracturing; and
- Local refineries – terminaling renewable fuels.
We are expanding our terminal operations at Bruderheim to create high-value, step-change growth for Canexus and much needed transport options for Western Canadian oil producers.
