Biography

Andy Lacara joined Canexus in February 2009 as Vice President, Manufacturing. In May 2010, he became Senior Vice President, Operations. He is responsible for leading the manufacturing and technology organizations of the company’s production facilities in a compliant and efficient manner. Prior to joining Canexus, Mr. Lacara was employed by International Paper Company (“IP”) for twenty four years in several of their business groups, including chemicals. He also held a variety of leadership positions across operations, manufacturing, human resources, and EH&S in the U.S. and Europe. During his career, he has served in a wide range of leadership roles as human resources director, chemical plant manager, paper mill manager, and operations director. When IP divested its chemicals business, Arizona Chemical Company, Mr. Lacara was employed as its Vice President of Operations. He is currently a board member and executive committee member of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada. Mr. Lacara graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology.
